"Pomegranate Industrial" // Beedallo

Albuquerque artist Beedallo contemplates the concept of “degenerate art,” the inequitable policing of culture and how to feel angry, but remain kind in an increasingly cruel world. “Cruel people will rise, cruel people will fall. I don't think I’m brave enough to facilitate the changes I wish to see in the world. The only power I can really claim against the cruel, is to offend their sensibilities. Neither me or my work will fall in line with a cruel person's idea of how people should act, or look, or love.”

On view every day June 26 - July 27

Opening Reception: June 26 from 5:00 - 8pm

IN MEMORIUM

MARTIN MICHAEL TERRY

A long-time FUSION curator, Martin Michael Terry, founder and curator of Martinart Studios, brought thought-provoking, inspired, and unique exhibitions to our gallery. Martin was born and raised in the Hudson Valley of New York and moved to Albuquerque in 1991. Although he traveled from the area, he returned in 2012 and immersed himself in the arts scene. He was a past president of the New Mexico Art League and exhibited in various shows, including the Unitarian Church, South Broadway Cultural Center, 606 Gallery, and FUSION.

While in Europe, he established a gallery at the U.S. Embassy in Athens and the Tri-Mission Embassy in Rome. The galleries were established to provide a space for the local employees (host country nationals working for the U.S.) to exhibit their work. These galleries remain under local employee leadership.

He worked for the Walt Disney Corporation with comic book art. And he spent many years working as an art therapist in New York State in the prison system, the state psychiatric facility, and in a community-based outpatient mental health organization. He taught art to private students in the U.S. and Europe.

Martin passed away in November 2024, while PROTEST 2024! was on display at FUSION.
