It's spring so what better time to enjoy Birds and Flowers. The Next Best Thing to Being There is having a group show featuring art for and about birds and flowers. It includes paintings, drawings, bird feeders and flower pots. Wind might be provided at no additional cost. The show features the works of several local artists and runs through April 2025. Join us for a gourd woodburning and embellishment demonstration by Caryl Goodman at noon on April 6. Gallery hours: 10 am to 2 pm. Gourd art involves transforming hard-shell gourds into decorative pieces through carving, painting, burning, and other techniques. The art on display will include bowls, ornaments, spirit dolls, vases and even a decorative teapot.

Gourd art involves transforming hard-shell gourds into decorative pieces through carving, painting, burning, and other techniques. The art on display will include bowls, ornaments, spirit dolls, vases and even a decorative teapot. Many techniques have been used such as wood burning, carving, painting and adding embellishments to enhance the natural characteristics of this unique Cucurbitaceae family of fruits. Artist reception Saturday, April 12, 1-3 pm.
