This month we welcome Connie Falk as our newest artist at the gallery. Connie paints primarily in oils and occasionally in acrylics and watercolors to create art that reflects her unique style of vivid colors and stylized composition. A First Sunday ARTScrawl Meet the Artist event will feature oil paintings by Joan Fenicle: The Art of Wandering, July 7, 10 am to 2 pm. Come by for a cup of “Summer Peeps” from Chicky’s Coffee and visit with the artist and her guest, Sondra Diepen, author of the just published “Route 66 in New Mexico” who will show copies of her beautiful book of stories and photographs. Wild Hearts Gallery in Placitas presents Joan Fenicle: The Art of Wandering, which will be on display June 25 through July 28. The Art of Wandering is a visual road trip taking you through unique spaces of New Mexico and Colorado that Joan Fenicle has been inspired to paint. An artist’s reception will be held on Saturday, July 13th, 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

In cooperation with the AABA, the Hotel Andaluz hosts quarterly exhibitions that showcase work from local galleries. The hotel gallery is on the mezzanine alongside the Ibiza Lounge, one of three hotel dining experiences. The current exhibition features select works by Catalina Salinas Gamarra, Colleen Z Gregoire, Laura Balombini, Richard Irwin, and Tatulli Komogorova.   • The New Mexico Art League invites artists to apply for an exhibition entitled: Outside of the Box: This exhibition celebrates imagery that does not fit into any particular category. It is an invitation to create with joy and abandon, which of course looks completely different for everyone. What fun! Deadline for entries is Saturday, July 13, 2024. The exhibit runs from August 29 through September 28, with the artists' reception scheduled for Saturday, September 14, from 4 PM to 6 PM. All artists living and working in New Mexico are welcome to enter. Art League membership is not required.
