AS IT WAS: WORKS BY TAMARA ZIBNERS

The compressed pictorial composition, near-total image obliteration, and over-saturated color in Zibners’ digital drawings and inkjet collages are visual representations of the outside world’s informational and emotional overload that she observes while existing in relative calm within the confinements of domesticity and motherhood. The result is bright and enticing — but almost too bright, like a warning or discomfort signal, borderline grotesque. Featuring Zibners’ work from her most recent Hold You series, and her earlier series, Mimi’s Diary and How Bad Can it Get.

Exhibit continues through January 29.

Wild Hearts Gallery in Placitas kicks off 2023 with "Down to the Bones", a heavily-textured, mixed-media exhibit by Joan Fenicle. Down to the Bones is about stripping away the veneer to expose the structure - focusing on a narrower view of the landscape the artist loves.
