Emily Timberlake’s mixed media paintings reflect her life’s experiences gleaned from the unconscious. Color is of great importance to her work, as is spontaneity. By applying thick slabs of acrylic or thin washes of watercolor, her intention is to penetrate the numbing barriers society continually erects, to entice the viewer towards a journey of self-discovery. Born in Mexico, she has lived in South America, Europe, Asia and the U.S.

Premiering in NM and at Palette are oil paintings by Ryan Goodwin. Concentric opens for Artscrawl with an artist reception. Ryan's painting are colorful and geometric, like puzzle pieces that fit together to create other-worldly landscapes. The compositions originate as fragments created on a black-painted canvas. The next paint layer, in gray tones, creates abstract shapes. The third adds color and variation to each shape.
